Century Furniture receives award

Century Furniture is being honored for their commitment to American manufacturing and is being presented with the "Made in America" award this July 4 in Washington DC.

The award will be presented at the annual Take Pride in America celebration held at the US Capitol.  Made in America is a not-for-profit educational organization based in Washington, D.C. 

The group’s mission is to foster a business climate conducive to the free exchange of ideas and information for the purpose of revitalizing and sustaining the competitiveness of American commerce and industry in a global economy.

Century was founded in 1947 by Harley F. Shuford and is in its third generation of family ownership and operation. The award is a result of a year-long search to identify a company committed to U.S. manufacturing, according to Made: In America.

“We are humbled and gratified to be selected for this honor,” said Eric Schenk, President and CEO of Century Furniture in a press release.

“Throughout Century’s history we have always tried to not only produce the highest quality furniture we can, but also uphold the highest standards of corporate citizenship."
